My sig 556 pistol had some small scuffs down to the metal in the area behind the ejection port when I received it . Now every time i shoot it gets worse. I looked at the charging handle nothing is touching or scraping the gun. Could it be the cartridge doing this when it is exiting the gun. Anyone else seen this??

It's from the empty shell being ejected... and yes, everyone has seen it.  Normal.

Mine Sig rifle is new with the factory spooge still on it and it has it.  Its probably from the test fire.

you can see in this thread, most everyone has the scuffs.

first pic in the page i linked shows someone who grip taped that area, which is also common.

Sigs are infamous for this. My friends SIG "Black Special"  (or Sig 550 semi variant) has the scuff behind the ejection port too.

I have seen people take a little patch of velcro and put it on that area to prevent them, but its totally normal on ALL sigs

I added the velcro, and problem solved. Easier on the brass too as I reload.
