Are two separate 4473s required if I wanted to pick up a stripped lower and a long gun at the same time?

Also, was this lady a retard or did something change where if the item has been received by the FFL, I can submit a 4473 today and pick up next week. Don't house just sign the bottom of page 2 and date it?

Just one. "Long gun" and "other" are checked, and it's good for both.

You sign and date when the form is submitted. You sign and date the bottom block if you pickup on a different date (after approval). They are good for 30 days from the date it's initially submitted.

Why would you want to fill out a 4473 today and pick up the firearm next week?  Seems a little suspect to me.  As an FFL, although it might be legal, I wouldn't deal with the headache of digging your 4473 out of a file just to save you the two minutes it takes to fill out a new form.

NICS delay or state waiting period are usual reasons.

One form is all that is needed.

At least a third of the checks I do, I don't pick up day of.

I guess the two FFLs I use are more laid back

To be fair it is a fairly uncommon request. The only time we ever really ran into it was when our state system was taking hours and people would come back after work or the next day.
