Ok so I am now toying with the idea on adding a SOT to a 01ffl. I have a couple questions.

1) does the demo letter have to be your local Leo or could it be from anywhere? More specifically could I obtain one from the LEO in the next county over?
2) After obtaining a post sample, is there any restriction to taking it to the range and such assuming the paperwork goes along as well?

The sot will be for doing transfers at a reasonable rate locally as prices are rather ridiculous. But having some pretty cool MGs on hand are a nice perk too.

Ty much, that's what I have gathered from reading up on it but just wanted to double check.

There are some restrictions as to who can take it to the range and do demos. Basically it boils down to the person taking it to the range must be an actual employee of the business. You can't just hand it off to your buddy, claim he is a contractor and let him go play. You also can't just give it to a LEO department and let them shoot it while you or your employee go back home, you have to be with the weapon.

Demo them a Glock sear. They are cheap and fun.

I'm the sole member of the FFL so it would just be me. Just wanted to make sure on the days I go shoot personally i wouldn't have any restrictions to bringing a post along to shoot while there as well.
