Hi all,
I am buying out a sporting goods store that previously held an FFL. the current owners surrendered the FFL because of issues between the and the ATF who were not going to renew their license. I want to keep the same location because its a good one as well as the store name because it is known. I have setup an LLC in my name and a new business account to go with it. the previous owners will have no interest in the "new store" at all. I want to apply for an FFL so that i can carry firearms at this location again. Its almost turn key. I have setup a DBA in order to use the current name of the store under my new LLC. I will have lawyer prepared oducments indicating that the store has changed hands and is now under new ownership with no connection to the previous owners. Here are my questions: 1. Will my FFL need to filed under the LLC name or the store name because it is the physical location? 2. Do you think there will be any issues with obtaining a license using the same location and store name as the previous owners because they had issues with the ATF? any input is greatly appreciated. thanks! |
