I have not had any luck trying to sell a Glock 31 in my area and I'm just wondering if it is legal to sell it in the Georgia area while on vacation. If I find an individual buyer in Georgia can we both then go to a local FFL and have him complete the transfer??? Even if legal, do you think that any FFL would do this? If needed I could provide the FFL with the original sales receipt.

Thanks

Yes, it's legal. You are still going through an FFL in the buyer's state, you are just delivering it instead of shipping it. Don't know if a dealer would do it, though providing the original sales receipt I'm sure would help.

We do this all the time.  The dealer will probably just want to see your driver's license so he can put your name and address into his bound book.

This is a good question as in FTF private sales. I know it's illegal to transfer a handgun to a non resident of which the transfer is taking place but how about the reverse?  Can you transfer your handgun to a buyer if visiting another state?  I'm not sure if the law reads that both parties must be a resident or that the purchaser must be a resident!

If neither party is an FFL then under Federal law they must both be residents of the same state.  Some states are more strict and require some or all firearm transfers to go through an FFL.
