Well my main monitor just shot craps on me so now I am in the market for a new system or at least a new monitor. Give me some ideas on what others are using and track history would be great!! Who says we make the big bucks when we have an FFL There is always something that gets the profits LOL.
Thanks.

We have a Wisecomm system that we ought at Sam's Club a couple of years ago. We had some shop lifters in the store once and we caught them but didn't have a surveillance system in place. We just caught them red handed stealing stuff from the shelves. They saw us watching them so they ditched the stuff before they left the store but I stopped them on the sidewalk out side the store. I had them empty their pockets and I made the girl empty her purse on the sidewalk. They didn't get anything but since then we have felt better that we had a system going. Plus, with the cameras throughout the store helps a lot.

That's basically the system we have but I got it a lot cheaper than that at Sam's Club. I think it was like $189.00. It has 4 cameras, 2 of them are weatherproof with sound and the other 2 are inside only with no sound. You can just use it as a monitoring system or hook a VCR to it to reocrd with too. The monitor has 4 channels and only plays them one at a time, no multi screen or PIP operation. The cameras work great even with the lights out but the monitor has quit working properly. I can turn it on and it works great for a few minutes and then goes to a gray picture. I have tried all the controls and unhooked and rehooked all the leads. I have checked all the cameras and they seem fine. If I could just fnd a new monitor that would be great but they do not offer just the monitor by itself.

I am still looking for another monitor to use with our existing cameras but I don't think I will find one. I am probably going to have to get an entire new system. If I do that I am going to get one of the newer ones that will allow us to view it from another location over the internet or my cellphone. That would be cool if I could keep a computer here at home going all the time monitoring the store. Also, when we go on vacation we could see the store and keep an eye on the employees too LOL!

There is a cheap, quality 4 channel DVR that would work for you. If you have an internet connection or a 3G phone you can view it live or view recordings from anywhere. Cameras would be super high rev 550 TVL so great pictures without spending a fortune on Megapixel. It's made by Martix and if you want I can PM you the info.

I always liked the intellex systems. Its not cheap but you can set alarms, zones etc.  Ie no one should be in store between these hrs.  If there is movement it saves that and allows you to view just that part.  Stationary cameras are decent but if they are stealing something they will avoid them.  If you go stationary go a dome camera so they cant tell which way it is pointing.  Check your state law on shoplifting as well.  Not all states require they leave the store, just intent to perminently deprive.   So the kid who looks around then shoves it in his bag alaredy "stole" it before he left the store at that point.  How big of a store do you have?

For a cheap fix, look on ebay for a multiplexer 4 channel, 16 channel etc.  Get that and hook it to a tv and you can watch all 4 at once

American Dynamics is good to go as well. They are a bit more money.
