Is there supposed to be a metal sleeve here? There's one in the other 3 locations

No, Steyr never had put one there. Only 3.

I was cleaning and lubing the Aug for a range trip tomorrow morning and noticed it didn't have a sleeve and maybe lost it

I did the exact same thing, had a minor panic and then google searched some images to assuage my angst.
