Thinking about picking up an Aug and using my OSS suppressor.  Right now the suppressor is just hanging out in my safe.

Reason for me wanting the Aug is I've always wanted one.   I cheapened out and bought an MSAR back when it was new and sold it (for which more).  Now the Augs are back and cheaper, why not!

The shorter barrel of the Aug will lead to a shorter weapon (duh) especially with a suppressor.

I just need to know how much exposed barrel is available for an over barrel suppressor like the OSS.  I need at least 4.2 inches in addition to rethreading (to 1/2 by 28).

Can anyone tell me how much exposed barrel is available on a 20 inch barrel?  On an 18 inch barrel?   Do not include the flash hider.

I know the Aug probably doesn't suppress well.  I like the gun and have a suppressor that isn't being used.

Anyone have a 20 inch Aug that they can measure the exposed barrel?  Preferably without the flash hider, the best you can.  Thanks.

The exposed part of a 20" Aug barrel is 7"; not counting the flash hider.  The USR 20" barrel is not threaded and has 7" exposed; they are essentially the same barrel.
