Ran into a guy at the range giving his AUG a workout and that got me interested in the bullpups again

I've long been intrigued by the M17 and should have bought one long ago when they were (relatively ) cheap ----   compared to an AUG, they still seem cheap(er) -- price that is -- i dont know how they perform .

I'm not looking for a "poorboy's AUG" or anything --- (i gotta get an AUG too after seeing that trick SOB at the range)  ---- but there is one for sale locally and the guy may be interested in a trade for my 3rd Gen Glock 20/29 set

Does that sound somewhat equitable , or should i skip the M17S love and keep on savin' for an AUG?    -- have no idea on the street price of the K&M M17 variant either

I would not trade a Glock 20 29 set for a M17.  I would save to buy the Bullpup.  I recently bought a Tavor and the Bullpups are kind of unique in the way they handle.  Plus they are fun to shoot  and are not commonly encountered.

A stock M17S isn't IMHO worth what good examples tend to bring these days.

A 17 reworked by KKF back in the day (RIP Kurt ) or by K&M now/recently can be a great gun and a lot of fun, but in original trim they are lacking (again, IMHO).

If I didn't have a 17, I would only buy one if I (1) got a great deal on one and (2) planned to have Ken at K&M rework it to my preferences.

YMMV, as always.

I have a M17, a MSAR 18" and an AUG 16". I wouldn't do that trade. The M17 is a major settle compared to my other bullpups. Only think about doing it if you want to pay for the upgrades.

1) Gets too hot
2) Very clunky
3) Iron sights are crude.

Wait.
Why you want this?

instead of this

or this

?

May want to check out the newly 'revised' M17 coming out.

I got an email from Ken(K/M) this afternoon saying he was moving forward but was a little behind and  was thinking about closing the preorders . I'm very happy I signed up as this looks like it will be way cool when it comes to fruition.
There is a whole lot more coming from this.

Thanks all --- I will hold off on this one ----   my 10mm fascination is at a standstill now,   but  in some circles, the  10 mil Glocks are respected a bit ----------  I can hold onto 'em  a bit more

Seriously though -- the main reason I was interested in a trade was that I like to shoot -- a lot  ----  I get pissed chasing Glock brass around the range all day and have 90% switched to revolvers except for my CCW piece (Sig 238)

My AR's , and other rifles,  OTOH,  deposit brass in a neat little pile pretty consistently --- plus a 5.56 range session is usually not nearly as much volume as a pistol session

------  I will keep saving for an AUG, unless I get to the point , (and the seller gets to the point) - that I can just offer him $800 for the thing clean  (as of now, he wants $1200, or equivalent trade bait --- just wasn't sure if they were worth that now -- they used to be a little cheaper thanthe higher optioned AR's

--- I worked for a Bushamaster dealer in the late 90's and never once saw a bullpup --- then they were kind of the ugly sister in the Bushy lineup --- back when Bushy was poised to inherit the throne from Colt as #1 top tier operators , -- LOL

You can actually do nice things with the M17S.

You gotta remember it was a rough design that need to be cleaned up to start with.

It is not a bad budget bullpup.  I missed one pre ban with the beeman 1-4 scope on it 18 years for $600.
