| I have spent quite a bit of time with the RatWorx can. I am the fat guy with the red goatee in the video that floats around of the rifle being fired with a Ratworx can on one AUG and a Surefire on the second AUG. The RatWorx can is quieter, it works really well. I will own one out of this batch of 70. It is the ultimate AUG accessory as far as I am concerned. |

Hope it does work well because it is still a supersonic round and a chamber an inch and a half from your ear. its a bit further than 1.5 inches. The chamber on an AUG is about 10-11 inches from my ear and the most noise blast is coming from the muzzle. From my AR the chamber is about 15-16 inches from my ear... but most of the noise comes from the muzzle. The AUG does sound louder than my AR when I fire it.( even more noticeable when I am standing near somebody else firing it) but I attribute that to the proximity of the bullpup's muzzle vs the AR muzzle. I believe that having a good suppressor that gets rid of the "piston pop" on an AUG will greatly reduce the blast that is amplified by the closer muzzle. |

I have stood near an AR15 suppressed by a gemtech and i didnt feel the need for hearing protection. Is Ratworx suppressor quiet enough to fire the AUG without hearing protection? From the the video you were in , it did not seem like you were wearing hearing protection. |

I'm almost positive that the majority of 5.56 sound suppressors only reduce noise levels down to the 120-130 dB range. Not a safe range for your ears. |

Yep, I read somewhere that seemed credible that the human ear started to sustain immediate ( duration of more than a second) damage at 120 db. I was standing about 10 feet to the rear of the shooter so i am sure that played a big part in how i percieved the sound... which seemed no louder than a a vigorous hand clap. I am sure it was appreciably louder for the shooter. |

I always wear plugs when shooting the E4 suppressed and muffs when not. Thats the intelligent way to go . I am getting this suppressor because
1. If I ever have to use this rifle in an HD situation, I would like to do so without blasting myself and my families eardrums out our respective heads 2. Range time wouldn't require anything but SureFire EarPro EP3 Sonic Defenders. and that would be great. 3. An AUG with a Ratworx suppressor is a very very cool toy to have. |
