lol....it goes inside of that tiny spring you have there, goes under the extractor!

yep... it was put in to stiffen the spring, fixing early extraction problems.

Where does the o-ring go? I found one the same size on the floor recently and am wondering if it came from my rifle.

It goes around the spring, I think as a cushion or dampener for the extractor.

That rubber O ring is also intended to increase extraction power.

The nylon insert and O-ring are "both" ideas taken from AR bolts.
