No information, just a place to look at pictures of the Austeyr and Steyr AUG .22 conversions as something to covet...
Some pictures come from 2020 and Jagdkommando while at SHOT 2011. Info provided by them is that the magazines used is an Anschutz in an AUG adapter. 
The design of the Steyr Carrier rod is ingenious. I would hope that instead of the 5.56 chamber insert, a dedicated .22lr barrel would be made available. Button rifled non-CL barrels would satisfy the requirements of a dedicated .22lr AUG barrel inexpensively.

There was a diploma project running at the gunsmithing class 2010/2011 of the HTBLVA Ferlach (Austria).
