Hi all,
My brother acquired a 20" barrel MSAR from CDNN about 4 months ago.  He's looking to replace the muzzle device, but it appears to be tack welded in place at two points.  There are two six-sided wrench points on the muzzle device, the first (jam nut?) is tacked to the barrel and second one is tacked to the first.  Can we just cut these tacks with a dremel and remove the device, or does MSAR pin these things?  Don't know if this tacking is common or if I need to post a pic, let me know.

I believe that his weapon was intended for certain states where that non-sense is required.  Cut the tac-welds and take them off.  Remember its backwards from an AR type thread.

I removed that same tacked on muzzle device with a Dremel and a small, diamond impregnated sanding disc.  Take your time and go straight with the seam and it will separate with a little effort.  As previously posted, bear in mind the reverse threads.
