There are two outfits in Australia that offer mag pouches for the AUG mag:
Platatac and SORD Australia |
| 5.11 mag pouches work well (bungie top for 30 rounders) and I have bought some of the Platatac ones (less impressed with them). So-Tech pouches also work well. Main thing to look for is that the pouch doesn't have a lip sewn on the inside to get hung up on the magazine's locking lug. |

HSGI Tacos work great, I use them in my rifle matches with my MSAR mags. very secure but easy peazy to draw and load.
I tried quite a few other pouches and most open top AR-15 mag pouches don't work well as the "tooth" or lug on the back of the mag will hang up where the fabric is wrapped at the top (usually wrapped inward to make it look clean on the outside). I have found BlackHawk Strike pouches with the removable flap work very well, they are cut big enough for the mags to clear, and the removable flap offers two carry methods depending on how secure/clean you want to keep the mag. |
