| Well I went to the range and I had a pretty big problem occur, I have a msar e4 chambered in 7.62x39, well I was at the range shooting some yugo m67 ammo with my gun when a round failed to eject. I tried to pull back on the charging handle and it would not budge with all of my strength. After carefully taking the gun apart since i was unsure as to whether or not a new round had been chambered I had the entire gun taken apart. eventually I had to take the barrel out with the spent shell still intact and bolt stuck to the shell out of the receiver. Only then could I finally get the bullet out off of the bolt/extractor. Prior to this happening my magazine would drop out of the stock in mid firing. When I finally looked at the bullet it appeared to be ok, it had some cripping from fiddling with the bullet and having the extractor stuck on the bullet. After this event I reassembled the gun it fired like a champ, however I still had the magazine drop out issue from time to time any thoughts? |

I had that happen to me the very first time i shot my STG556(no probs with mags dropping though). The Charging handle could be moved back about half an inch but no further. I just popped the barrel off and everything came free. It was the very last round of my very last mag of the day so I couldn't do anything to try and recreate it. A couple thousand rounds later and It's never happened again. I think I posted about it and never got an answer but maybe someone has some new insight. |

Well- I can't say what the problem is exactly. But I will say that my 30 round mags drop fre on both my STGs while the 10, 20, and 42 rounders need some assistance getting out. I assume you're using the same mag? Dunno just throwing that out there, don't think it helps though. |
| Well emailed Ratworx today and they send me an email at 830 pm haha not sure why they are working so late, anyways they told me to send the stock in to get the upgrade, wish I had the torx head on my stock cause then I could just do it myself but I dont have that weird tool that they have. Anyways thats my update. |

They earn their stellar reputation every day through hard work. |

Most people think your problem is with the mag catch because of the upgrade to the new stainless catch on their 5.56 rifles. This is not the case with the 7.62 rifles as yours should have the stainless catch already. I have a 7.62 E4 and had this same problem. I believe I was the first person with a 7.62 E4 to send theirs to Ratworx for the mag dropping problem. The spring that MSAR uses behind the catch is too weak. It was designed to hold a lighter 30 round 5.56 mag also with less recoil. It will work find for a 5.56 rifle but not for a 7.62 gun. 30 round 7.62 Cproducts mags weigh too damn much compared to 5.56 and after about five or six shots fired, the catch would retract just a little from heavier recoil and would not hold the mags in place. I sent mine to Chris at Ratworx and he replaced the catch spring with one of a heavier weight. My 7.62 E4 came back fixed, with an extra spring as well as the original spring, and he replaced that stupid praprietary spanner type bolt with a torx head bolt. All of this was FREE and now I can service it myself. My bolt came with the old style extractor. The extractor claw sheared off which left spent cases still in the chamber. MSAR replaced the extractor for FREE as well. Both Ratworx and MSAR received my stock & bolt respectively, fixed them the same day and sent them back to me the very next day. One other issue I had was with the crappy Cproducts 30 round mags. Being the only AR 7.62 mags on the market I am stuck with them and sometimes a fresh round would not come to the top fast enough for the bolt to strip and chamber. I purchased some 5% extra power Wolf AK mag springs. Now they work like a champ but they will only hold 28 rounds, not 30. The best fix would have been to put weaker recoil springs in the carrier group but the carrier is not servicable so the next best thing is to use stronger mag springs. Hope this helps, MadDog
