Is there a special trick or number to contact an actual live person at MSAR? No one answers the numbers listed on their website.
|
| Nope, the only people they are talking to is Ratworx. I actually called ratworx today to ask what was going on and if they talked to them or not. The said they talk sometimes, but its kinda hard to do so. I asked if they are even working on any guns and they said they were "working" on the MCS. Who knows since they have been working on that for awhile, one good thing is they are getting a shipment of hybrid bolds for 7.62x39 e4's in a couple months, they have some hybrid left and right hand bolts right now. |
| After attempting several more calls today, I FINALLY got a live person on the phone. The guy told me that they could not do anything about my problem with the optic I sent them because the weather was bad and the range was flooded. "Maybe next week" he could get to it. |

If you have a broken factory optic likely there is nothing they can do for you at this time- they have no replacements or spare parts to fix them. |

I had a similar conversation with Ratworx Tues, after trying to contact MSAR for several days. Ratworx told me they had trouble contacting MSAR sometimes. Ratworx assured me they would be receiving parts from MSAR in the near future. They told me to keep an eye on there web sight or call them back. |

He didn't say anything about that until I mentioned it. He said he was going to take my optic to the range and put it on his rifle and try it out. Next week. |

I have been trying to contact MSAR for months. I have never had a message, email...anything returned. For the past month, Chris at Ratworx has been trying to contact them on my behalf. He supposedly passed on all of my contact info to them, but I haven't heard a peep.
I'm so disgusted with MSAR, that I really don't want to own their product anymore. However, if I sell/trade the damn thing, I'm gonna take it in the ass in epic fashion. |

Quoted: Quoted: Optic might not need a new part could be something they could fix without replacing anything. IF I'm lucky. From what I've been reading about MSAR's and their customer service and quality control recently, I don't see it happening. At least you know they're going to see what they can do. |

Quoted: SS knows darn well that optic won't be fixed. he is the msar dreamer of the bullpup forum. I've never even see the optic so how can I know whether it will be fixed or not? If it requires a new part then it probably will not be fixed. If it's something that they can just tweak or whatever then maybe it will be fixed. Something might just have been assembled wrong. Better to send it in and see what they can do then just chuck it in the trash. |

because you've been here for a long time...25k+ posts and you know that not a single optic sent in has been fixed. You have been told this by dave who worked there. Geeeez, Nothing like being rude to the guy Maybe he is looking for a Little bit of hope, reassurance, or even a fact here and there? MSAR and their future is nothing short of a Soap Opera. One post claiming that they are going under. Another post claiming that new products will be introduced soon. It appears that no one has a Crystal Ball with them right now. |
| He might have come off as a little rude, but he is absolutely correct. MSAR has not replaced or fixed a single one of their crappy optics. I know because I am one of those people that got one that is worthless. I went round and round with them on trying to get it fixed. In the end all I got was a STG top rail which I did not like on my E4. If you think that they are ever going to replace them-think again. It has been almost 2 years since I bought mine and they still haven't even fixed all the bad mags that people sent in l(like me as well ) with new followers that they promised they were going to do like over a year ago. They didn't even have have the decency to send any back-they just pretty much confiscated them from everyone and didn't even compensate us with anything in return and some people sent in a lot of bad mags (one guy is out like a box of them-don't remember the exact number or amount of money he spent but it was a lot).. So if they can't fix some plastic mags what makes you think that they going to fix optics? Bottom line-just accept the fact that your optic will never be replaced. If you want something in return contact them via RMA about it and pray that they still will maybe send you that worthless rail and then you can either run that or sell it and get a Promoted pawn rail or a 2020 rail which is much better. That's what I did-got a PP rail for cheap on GB and put a red dot on it. Do I sound jaded-you bet. Do I regret buying my E4-no. My E4 turned out to work without too many issues, and now with a cheap red dot and some pmags I can take it to the range as a plinker. Like it has been said many many times "Love the E4, Hate the company". Just my 2 cents... |

Exactly! 75% of the reason I bought my E4 was because they had the best CS in the whole damn business. Now it's one of the worst. Dave fixed my problem pronto and even threw in a ton of extras just in case anything else ever happened, thanks for that since now who knows what would happen if a part goes bad?
Love the product, hate who makes it

| Well, I'm really surprised. The big brown truck brought me a package from MSAR today. I was expecting a rail in return, but I got an optic back. I don't believe it was the same one that I sent them. There was an invoice inside with unreadable handwritten notes in the "repairs" section. |

My whole argument is that if I had been in the OP's position I would have done the same thing and sent in the optic for warranty service. Seems to me others here were advocating not even bothering and I figured for the cost of S&H it was worth a shot. Seems like it worked out well for him so to hell with the nah sayers that wanted to torpedo the guy by suggesting he just junk the optic or forget about it. I swear the hate that a few members here have for MSAR is so strong they really are just going to be doom and gloom everytime and to hell with actually trying to help folks out.

Seems it is time to eat some crow. i would love for msar to be able to fix their products. One REPLACED scope don't make it so. Since i own 2 stg's i would like to see msar make it. BUT since they haven't made a gun in a long time, they haven't ordered barrels that we know of, etc. i am glad that they are still fixing their guns that they rushed out the door in the hight of the panic buying. i had an e4, it had to go back and it seems a whole lot do have to. if they really want to show good faith to their customers they would help out those sitting on those e4 mags, in some cases refusing to even return them to their owners. |

not a single optic sent in has been fixed Still true it wasn't fixed it was replaced. It was a joke pointing out that *technically* finishman2000's statement was no longer correct, hence the winking smiley. But it would appear *you* are correct, touche! [ETA] I think we all need to lighten up on the whole 'MSAR apologists/haters' thing- it seems a lot of threads go south because of it, and the name calling just plain gets old. |

I'm VERY curious as to where the replacement optic could have come from...
I'm not being gloom and doom nor am I an MSAR hater... I own an E4, used to own 2, and may break down and replace that 2nd one (sellers regret) Unless they have contracted with someone to make replacements, MSAR has stated for some time that they were "out" of optics. So did they replace the optic with another one that was returned for some other reason? (i.e. finish, slightly canted reticle, etc) Is it a factory refurb? What if you're one of the many who are waiting on their optic to be repaired or replaceed? I'd be TICKED if all I got was a low cost rail as replacement and was told "no optic for you" then found out they had some optics on hand. Glad it worked out for the OP. Glad I don't have an optic that went back and never returned... glad I don't have 55 E4 mags... |

If I am wrong, then I am guessing a whole bunch of people who are OWED optics, will start receiving them. |
Should have never done the 1.5x optic to being with, but they wanted that authentic old school look even though the original had an AR style forward assist. I guess to their credit it was a nice idea to give folks an optic stock. FNH I see has discontinued selling their FS2000 with the optic and they were the only other company I know of that sold an optic with their rifle stock. I also thought the FNH optic sucked as well though and could never figure out why anyone would want the optic version when they could get the railed version?I don't know what they were thinking with those XM30 mags either, sorry but I think they're ugly as sin even if they did work. I mean I love my STG mags, but those XM30s never looked good to me. |
