For those that haven't seen it -

MSAR STG Serial Number 1.   I remember it was said that they were selling their library rifles.

It looks like they put it on a late model stock?

That would be cool to own. You would have thought it would have a FA (Gen1) stock on it though.

I didn't look at the link but likely it is Heavy Barrel #1

No, they say it is "This is the one that started it all, the  First
Standard Production Microtech STG-556 Rifle; serial #600-P000001."

I had number 15. I thought the 1500 limited editions came before it but wasn't sure. It had the best fit and finish of the 3 I had.

It would have to sell for $900 before I would spring for it........
Might make up for the $1000 hit I will take if I sell my limited edition.

1/2x28 barrel w/ 1:8 twist?  No way that's an early bbl.

From the ad:

... Here is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get the number one gun. This is the one that started it all, the First Standard Production Microtech STG-556 Rifle; serial #600-P000001.

< emphasis mine >

So I'm guessing this one did come after the LEs?

Nothing on that gun looks like it's a first gen rifle. How can it be the first one? I'm confused.

I had #65 of the first run after the LE's, and it had a 13/1 LH thread, and 1:9 twist.

Was just about to post that. All STGs from 2007-mid 2009 had M13x1 LH threaded barrels.

Also, they didn't ship with five 30 round magazines and a side rail until after the E-4s came out. And it has a Gen 4 stock. Looks like someone threw some parts together.

Looks like your basically getting Receiver #1 and then a jumble of parts.

Still cool I guess if you're an MSAR fan but....eh....Marfionne really killed the fandom and luster of the brand.

"RK" was the shipping guy that got laid off about the same time as me.  I don't think he was hired until about March 2009.

That's why I didn't think I had anything special. I figured the 600 prefix meant my rifle was really around 1515 or something in that order.
But it did have the 1/9 twist LH metric barrel and F/A stock.

If I remember correctly, SN 1 had really cool clear SLA stock on it to show all the internals when it was hanging in Tony's office. Could be wrong though, but this is definitely  overstock parts on the #1 receiver just hoping to make some extra money

This is the PROTOTYPE number ONE of the Gebirgsjäger which translates to Mountain Huntsmen. The Edelweiss Insignia is the symbol chosen by both Hungary and Austria to honor the Mountain Huntsmen for their brave and selfless protection against the Italian invasion May of 1915. This symbol is apparent on the Gebirgsjäger at the front of the rail and the front of the scope mount. Also there is this symbol on the knife which is serialized with the rifle. This package is all OD Green and includes the Pelican case, sling, Crosshair knife, three amber 30 round magazines with OD bases, a 9” rail and the rifle with MSAR scope attached. Also from Microtech there is the certificate of authenticity for this” PROTOTYPE-0001” which has remained unopened. We have labored over the choice of keeping this rifle here at the shop or offering it to you. Our customers have won again. This certainly is a once in a lifetime find and is all New in the Box from Microtech.
