I just wanted to share my experience with MSAR.  I'm posting this because I've noticed my experience differs from others who have posted.  I don't know why this is and just wish to present a different perspective.

I purchased my MSAR, 5 black 42 rounders, and 5 black 30 rounders in February.  The black 42 rounders only held about 38 reliably but I pretty much got the mags free and wasn't really concerned with this. Outside of the 42/38 round mags, it ran great.  In November, I started to get double feeds.  I assumed it was the already weak feed lips continuing to weaken so I emailed MSAR.  Two weeks later (patience is a virtue ) I got a response asking to send my gun in.  I was actually kind of excited at this prospect because the last time I dealt with MSAR I got a bunch of extra goodies. (I jacked up the retaining pin in the stock and got a new one sent out to me along with a few other spare parts).  I sent it off and got my gun back in about 2 more weeks.  They gave me 10 new magazines, a new firing pin, extractor, extractor spring, and bolt sleeve.  Runs great now and I got some nifty amber 42 rounders.  I would consider my experience with MSAR a positive one.  My gun is fun to shoot and when it stopped being fun, MSAR made it fun again.

Pics make life better:

Amber Mags!

I have a question too.  When I got it back, they machined about .5mm off the area where the bolt sleeve contacts the trunnion.  Any idea why they would do this? pic:

I could only load 40 rounds in my 42's when I first got them, but now, 3 months later, they all hold 42.

That area they machined off was part of a fix done for out of spec receivers(?)  There was a thread about that a while back.  Glad to see your rifle is back and they hooked you up old-school Dave R. style.

Damn, that's more parts than I got when I sent mine in. Jeez. Like you hit the MSAR lotto or something.

Thanks for the info. Dave R. was actually the one who gave me the goodies the first time I dealt with them.

They hooked me up pretty solid. Very satisfied. Gun is a blast.

They have always squared me away question or recall wise. That said, I haven't had any issues with either of my E4s so no real experience on the warranty "for issues".

That said you must "give good phone" if you are getting that much stuff for free! Do all your calls for support start with "Hey baby what'cha wearing?"

Just curious. When you got your weapon back from MSAR, what was the reason/s given for your weapons malfunction?

There wasn't, which was really lame.  But I stopped caring after I put a few hundred rounds through it.

Yeah, Dave was the bee's knees but as someone who has received customer service both before and after Dave's employment, the only difference I noticed was the promptness of correspondence with customer service.

Haha no, but I was very polite. You attract more bee's with honey than vinegar

Do I get an award for using two bee related phrases in one post?

Nice score.

I had to send my rifle in for repairs on a defective item and got a sales call to see if I wanted to buy any spare parts.

I haven't run mine since...but have recently been considering selling to buy an actual AUG.

Well if that's the case they are either making parts again or they are liquidating inventory. Hopefully its the first thought...

Did they give you a price quote on a spare parts kit?   Curious what a typical spare parts kit goes for nowadays.

They've got one kit priced @ $75 and the other for $175. The $175 kit includes most of the wear/tear items...but not all.

They announced in December 10' their intent is to get an e-commerce page on their website so you can order parts, but so far they don't have that up yet.   So right now all you can do is order them through Ratworx or call them direct by Telephone and Order them through MSAR. Some folks claim they get a better price deal going through Ratworx.

Was told they are sold out of stg rifles and parts. Said they are expecting more parts next week.

My friend is buying rifles from Ratworx and he was told the same thing (at least the sold out part) and that there will be no more STG's, only E4's.  I hope this isn't true about the STG's, as I prefer them.
