Make certain you are seating the magazine correctly. Push the magazine into the stock until you get that firm click feedback and then give a gentle pull down to make certain it has seated. Make sure your stock is properly joined by seeing if it looks misalinged when looking at the join in the magazine well. Use different ammunition with different gas settings. If the issue continues despite your best effort to diagnosis it and remedy it then you need to contact MSAR as it may require warranty service for the rifle or the magazines. |

Hi Phillip, if you've been reading the forums, the general advice is: Clean and lube, then run the rifle on the "H" setting for the first 200 rounds until it gets broken in. Low gas could be causing those double feeds as the rifle is not fully cycling. Hope this helps.
Disregard. Looks like you've tried that. |
| I recently bought 6 new STG 30 round amber magazines that upon the first time being used had the exact same issue. All of my 42 round ambers have always worked perfect. While looking here I found several post from others that recommended that I fully load the 30 round magazines and let them sit unused for a few weeks. I did so and guess what they all work perfect now. It does not seem to make sense but it did work. Try those 42 round magazines. If they work I do sugest that you try the load and let sit around method. It worked on mine. |

Hey guys, I took my MSAR STG-556 out yesterday for the first time and had a ton of problems with failure to feed. Some background info: Rifle was purchased used, previous owner claimed appr 800 rounds of worry free with brass and steel cased ammo Ammo used was Hornady TAP practice in both 55gr and 75gr. This is steel cased stuff, in case you don't know. I did not have any brass cased stuff with me to see if that would have made a difference. I have done a few small changes to the rifle myself - Nue trigger and Manticore charging handle. I attempted to fire the rifle with multiple mags, tested it on both gas settings, even broke the rifle down and cleaned her in the middle - the feeding issues were the same every time. The problem: Every 3 or 4 shots through the rifle, the round would not be picked up properly by the bolt. The round would end up on an angle as it attempted to go into the chamber. Extraction was fine, and the bolt locked open just fine if I managed to get through the rounds in the mags. Here are a couple pics from my phone I took at the range to hopefully better illustrate what happened: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj61/phillip110/msar/IMG_20101001_180044-1.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj61/phillip110/msar/IMG_20101001_180044-1-1.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj61/phillip110/msar/IMG_20101001_180136-1.jpg Any suggestions, comments, etc? One of my STG-556 does that with .223 ammo. Have you tried 5.56mm? I have two STG-556's and they never jam while using 5.56mm. Like I said, one jams with .223, but I believe it is just because it is still new. Did you try adjust the gas regulator? Wolf is normally a bit underpowered for the STG-556. |
