Yes, I used the search function and i checked out the stickies.

I can't get the barrel off my E4.  I have the bolt locked back and can rotate the barrel, but it won't come up/off.  I can lock it back down to the left, but when I bring it right again to rotate it off, no go.  It won't budge an inch.   What am i doing wrong?

***ETA*** Alright....so after much wiggling and pulling, I finally started to make progress.  I almost put my eye out when it came loose .  Encouraged, I then proceeded to try and push in the receiver lock (after I rode the charging handle forward)....nope.  Apparently what I thought were man hands were in fact sissy girl hands.  I can't get this thing to budge either......stand by for future endeavors....

And roger, got it.  geez this thing is tough.  If you can't tell, this is the 1st time I've done this.

Have you put a new  rail on it?

When i put a PP rail on mine I used the wrong set of screws. They were so long that they stuck down between the flutes of the barrel making it impossible to take off.

I had one of the two allen screws on the receiver come loose, wedging itself against the barrel plate.  I had to REALLY force it off.

Wait.  Why are you rotating right again?

I think he means right when looking from the bottom...

You say you are going left, THEN right again.  You should only be going one way.  I don't understand what you are saying.

Rest your MSAR with the but on a hard surface barrel facing straight up. Retract the bolt and lock it back.  activate the take-down button with either hand so it's pin is retracted.  Rotate the barrel "counter clockwise" until it stops rotating.  Pull straight up (may take a little force) and the barrel will be removed.

That is how I do it and it should work for you if yours is working properly,

No, I'm saying that I can rotate it right  with no problem.  The barrel will not come out of the stock though.  I turn left to lock it back down.

Maddog, that's what I'm doing.  It wont come off though.  I was wondering if I'm missing something or if this is an identified problem w/ other users.

Try taking the barreled receiver out of the stock first.  That way you'll be able to see if something is hanging the bbl up.

I have that same problem with my STG-556 scoutfsu99. Dave, when he was with MSAR, said it was probably too tight and to send it back to MSAR so he could look at it.

It's been almost 3 months since I was supposed to send it back.

It shoots fine.........just not able to get the barrel out.

With all the shooting I do I'm not sure when I'll be able to send it to MSAR.

Got it.  This was the part I didn't understand.

When mine wouldn't come out, it wouldn't rotate at all.  I bet your problem is back at the lugs and not at the receiver like mine was.

Funny enough, mine comes out fine but can be over-inserted upon installation to the point where it won't turn into place. The o-ring fixed that.
