My STG has a modded hammer pack with shortened hammer hook, lightened return spring pressure (like TT but much cheaper), reduced friction and a Neu-Trigger.
I loaded a primed case and smacked the butt on the floor and... No bang. I looked at the primer and it had a slight mark, similar to what one would see after chambering a round in an AR.
I reloaded the round and smacked it harder. The hammer had fallen but the result was the same. Then, I rechambered it and pulled the trigger on the primed case and it scared the shit outta my dogs when it popped. This verified that the primer was live.
Next, I loaded another primed case and repeated the test, varying the level of force with which I hit the floor. The results were the same, with the hammer dropping but no bang until I chambered it again and pulled the trigger to get a bang.
Lessons learned: 1. If the rifle hits hard enough to release the hammer, it must also be driving the bolt far enough out of battery to prevent a solid primer hit. 2. I have more confidence in the safety of my modded hammer pack.

Of course, this test was those cases, in my rifle, smacked against my floor so it's only valid to me. Regardless, I encourage anyone with mods done to their hammer pack to give it a try, with primed cases, to see what happens.
I love my STG!

Thanks,
Lee

I assume you were using drcoffee's spring that TT threatened him over? If so I have one as well and with the NT and spring my trigger is scary light and buttery smooth. I also didn't have any issues out of it.

What is your trigger pull weight?  Mine is 2lb 10oz and I was not able to make the hammer to fall. I'll hope to get to the range soon to verify its action.

I did the same thing to a FS2k I used to have.  I did extensive tests w/ Primed brass w/ different spring weights.  Even w/ the lightest trigger reset springs I was never able to set the primer off when dropping the hammer by dropping the gun butt on the ground.  I did always have marked primers, but never an ignition.  I guess the BCG was coming out of battery just enough while the hammer was falling to prevent sufficient primer penetration.

I ended up leaving in one factory spring, of the dual reset springs, for a good compromise b/t trigger pull and stability of the sear b/c at it lightst, I could bump the butt on a wall if I were to pivot & the hammer would drop.  Not very good for a fighting gun to bump in to something & have the hammer fall.

Just got some little springs form the local hardware store.
