I have had my gen4 stg for about 4 mo now and has been 100% reliable with silver bear with the gas setting on regular.  Today at the range I had to failures to eject in two mags.  Both times the case mouth was rammed into the front part of theejection port, and left 2 nice round cuts in the plastic.  Could these have been low power rounds that short cycled the action or just a fluke.  I have always ran this ammo through this rifle other then the first 200 rds of milspec m193.  These to hang-ups are the only ones I have had in about 1k of reliable shooting.  I also run this ammo in a M4 and have never had any shortstroking or FTF or FTE.  Is there any thing to look for in the ejector/extractor department?  All in all this rifle is a kick ass stick.  The rifle was freshly cleaned before this range outing, if that helps diagnose my problem.  Thanks in advance.

Have you ever removed the extractor as part of your cleaning routine? I've noticed a tendency for crud to build up under the extractor and in the firing pin channel, you might want to check/clean there first.
The extractor spring & doughnut do need to be replaced occasionally but I don't have an exact round count as to when this becomes necessary.
Also, examine the claw of the extractor to ensure it's intact, it should look like this:

HTH, keep us posted!...

I took my extracter out the first time I cleaned it after I fired and had about the hardest time getting the jesus pin back in to hold the extracter.  This makes me believe next time I go to clean it, forget about taking the extracter out.  It took me like half an hour of base and playing with it to get it to go back in.

IMHO the trick to getting the pin back in is to make sure the extractor is as far back as it will go to ensure the holes line up properly. It is difficult to press down hard enough to do this so I sometimes use a pair of pliers to apply sufficient pressure.
