Why are the E4s priced hundreds higher than the regular STGs? They cost the same to make.

threaded inserts, screws, three rails and extra magazine release parts are free right? Plus free labor to install them of course.

You don't have any grasp of what you are talking about.

Any guess what just a new mold for a stock costs?  Pick a  nice number in the five figure range.

How about all the molds, stampings, and castings for the new parts that make it work with an AR mag?

Don't forget the rails that come with it, rail mounting point embeds.

Oh, and design, R&D, and engineering time to develop all those parts.  There are probably in the high hundreds to low thousands of man hours (not dollars, but hours of time multiplied by the cost of the employee) invested in the work.

It could be any of the following:

1) mold don't cost anything to have made therefore MSAR is just greedy.
2) because they can

OR  OR  OR OR  OR OR

The new stock includes 3 extra rails that are an extra if you have the STG.
It does cost over 100k for a new mold (plus at least 5K every time you have to adjust the mold till you get the bugs out)
As well as the new mold/casting for the higher optic (now discontinued because of the cost)

Is it me or do most of the dumb questions seem to come from TX?

I disagree. I have had things made out of metal and polymer both and it doesn't cost as much as you think. I see your point and I knew R&D would be thrown in there. Basically, what it boils down to is good business decisions.

Because TX is competitive and we dont want you PA guys to be the only ones.

His pre-edit post also included something along the lines of: they are only more expensive, because you guys are willing to pay that much for them.

That was the reason for my WTF +

Yeah after going back, reading it, and seeing your response, I thought people might take it the wrong way.

Asked and answered, and not the best forum for this, personal bickering already started, etc. –– locking this one down.

OP, if you want more info, post in the MSAR Industry Forum or contact them directly.
