Ok i got the gun then an optic now I am pretty much broke.
What kind of case do you haul your MSAR around with the optic attached?
Cheaper the better since my wallet is pretty much wasted.
Thanks

My backpack.  With the barrel popped off it will fit in almost any backpack.

I've got one of these that I've had forever. Used to use it for my UZI.

I take the barrel off the E4 and attach it under the mag pouch flaps. The grip goes in one of the pouches to keep it and the barrel assy from moving around. The rest of the gun slips right in the main compartment, optic and all.

I can also fit two 30rd mags in the zippered compartment.

Not ideal....but cheap and compact. The whole shebang fits in one side of the locking box under the rear seat in my truck.

Check out bagdepot.com
I've bought about 7 cases from them
and they seem to hold up pretty well.
Pretty cheap too.

Midway has a sale on their cases.  I ordered one of their deluxe tactical rifle cases, I think that was the name, It was 59.99 in their sale flyer.  When I ordered it on the phone the guy said 35.99, I figured it would be okay to get from point a to point b and keep me legal.  When it arrived i was pretty impressed.  The part where the rifle goes had 3/4" padding with a thin layer of plastic under the nylon, making it semi rigid.  It had a nice shoulder strap and carry handles.  There is also a second, large zippered compartment that has another zipper compartment in it, it could easily hold a second barrel or cleaning rod/equipment.  Has 6 mag pockets that have a flap with long velcro strap and will hold 30 fully enclosed and 42 rd mag with 4" out the top, but the flap will secure the mag real good.  Also the rifle compartment has a neat securing system in it for kepping a smaller rifle from sliding around in it.  I ordered a 35" model and it holds my 20" msar with 1-4 xtr and fastfire piggyback nicely.  Well worth the 59.99 and a steal at 35.99.

If I may ask, what is that optic?... Is that one of the Aimpoint micros?

I am trying to decide what I want to put on my STG... Right now I just have a Hakko Panorama sight on it temporarily.

Yup.  There are some decent Micro clones out there nowadays too, so you can try one on for size without breaking the bank.  I bought one of the Sig branded mini-dots on EE for $60 a couple months ago, and it's on one of my 22's.

Thanks, I kind of like the tennis racket case idea.
Are they padded pretty well?
Is there velcro straps or any thing to lash them in?
Looks like a real snug fit.

I don't know how discreet it would really be for a big ol' boy in camo LMAO
Wife could pull it off as a trunk gun though.

They aren't padded very well, but you can add some yourself.

Nice. I was just going to ask about that.

Looks like I'm now in the market for a cheapo tennis racket case.

Get a double, or a quad case.  It'll be thicker that way.

I found one at Walmart for about $12 the other day.  It was a double case and looked about as harmless as deck of cards.

I've been thinking of purchasing this Condor bag (Micro Drag Bag).  While Condor might not be looked upon as a mil spec manufacturer, I've handled this case at the recent fun show and it was not that bad of a product.  It's specs are  27" x 11" x 4" and had a internal divider that can be removed.
Besides the divider there are no other pockets or storage areas inside the  bag. However, the exterior has webbing that accepts MOLLE style pouches and accessories.  It also has hide away, detachable shoulder straps and web carrying handle.  I've seen it priced from a low of $45 to $60 + s/h.   Available Colors: Olive Drab, Black, Coyote Tan, ACU Digital Camo

I forgot to mention this is a top load only bag.

However, the triple tennis bag is very covert. I don't think I could call this bag discreet though. While it is shorter than my 36" & 42" rifle bags it does say look at me with any Molle pouches.

I'll attest to this exact case.

I bought one at a big gunshow for $30.

I flip up the front handle, and the STG fits in the case at an angle, with 30-round magazine inserted and an optic mounted (Aimpoint CompC3 in an MI mount). Inserted like this, the case is easy to close, and the rifle does not move around at all, whether it's secured by the internal straps or not.

The full-length accessory compartment on the outside can hold 7 42-round mags and six 30-round mags if one wished (which is exactly what I did for a bit). You could probably pack a few 20's in there as well if you got creative, but it's really optimal for 6-7 spare 30's or 42's.

With all that said, had I not gotten this case, a tennis racket bag would've likely been in my future...

With the barrel taken off how long is the stock?

EDIT: Shit ! that was post 556..... I'll save this spot to post a pick once I get back from this deployment and get an MSAR.

I use a Camelback.  With the hose sticking out, you could go anywhere you want and nobody would even bat an eye.  I fit the gun + 9 mags in it and there were no bulges.
