Ok, so it has its flaws:
1: I can’t have my optic mounted
2: It may not offer as much protection as a pelican case, but I have I have one for when I need one.
3: I have to have the charging handle back and locked in order to close the case if i wanted to have mags in the case.
4: The foam is by no means perfect, but all I was working with was a $10 electric knife from Wal-Mart

All that being said, I think it is a bad ass case.  I got the case used on eBay for 15 bucks, not a bad deal if I must say so myself.  The seller I got it from was top notch.  I did not know if it was going to fit so I sent him this

He gave me every measurement I asked for, as you can see it was a bit of a tight fit.

Shaping the foam was not an easy task because of the contours that the top of the case has.  I had to layer the foam and carve the shape free hand, not easy when you have the artistic talent of a rock like me.   But this was one of the coolest looking cases I have ever put together.  And thanks to the balance of the AUG platform the center of balance is the center of the handle…even with loaded mags.  Making it extremely comfortable to carry to the range…or wherever I want…lol

Is there enough room with the optic attached if you remove the barrel and turn the gun 180 degrees?

Unfortunately not, not having an optic mounted is by far the worst part of the setup.

He still has 2 cases left viola case

If you do get one just a few tips.

1.  Keep the form that is on the top of the case and use it as a pattern when you carve the foam for the top of the case.
2.  The glue that they used to hold the foam and fake fur may be the stickiest stuff on the planet.  I tried every solvent I had at the house to take it off and most of it was dissolved the plastic.  I tried rubbing alcohol (it did nothing), lacquer thinner (it dissolved the plastic), acetone (it dissolved the plastic), paint thinner (it dissolved the plastic), gasoline (it dissolved the plastic), lighter fluid (it dissolved the plastic), and the list goes on.  The only thing I found that worked and did not hurt the case was WD-40.  It did not dissolve anything but it got under glue and loosened it up and allowed it to be removed in big globes.  After a quick clean up with rubbing alcohol it was good to go.  It was by no means a fast but it worked.
3.  Keep your receipt for your electric knife you may burn the motor up like I did.

Thanks for link.  Only one left now.  I used to have an HK91 in a banjo case.  It is gone now but this may be better.  I hope to get an RFB some day so maybe I should get the other case too.  Bet it would fit just as well.
