My first post in ths forum...
I just picked up new black model with the 16" barrel, Pickatinny rail on top and right side. I'm a lefty shooter and after buying the rifle and putting in an order for a left hand bolt, I got a call from my dealer that the bolts are backordered and it would be about three weeks wait...$!
Well, after some looking, I found a dealer that had ONE left. I recieved the bolt today. Yippie!!! So, I break down the rifle to install the new bolt. Now what, the firing pin will NOT come out. Took it to my dealer...they could not, either. Three guys and me and the pin will just not come out. They pulled one of their own STG's off the rack, broke it down and EASILLY removed the firing pin. I told them, "I'll trade you" Sorry, may have to send this to MSAR......DOUBLE $! ![]()
I will be talking to the dealer tomorrow and sure hope he just gives me a good bolt goup from one of his rifles and I can be on my way....Not the best of starts with MSAR. |

They have very good customer service. This may be an inconvenience, but the situation will be rectified in the end. I had an issue with my order taking quite some time, but they were more than generous about rectifying the situation as soon as they became aware of it.

| If the firing pin can't be removed from the bolt group, the bolt cannot be removed. I will have to send them the entire bolt group. I followed all instructions for removal. The process worked just fine on one of their new rifles. I think there's something broke inside that's jamming up the works. |

Take your bolt group in your left hand with the index finger pushing the bolt to the rear. With your right hand take a pair of taped pliars and twist the pin to get it to disengage. I had to do this until the rifle had been broke in. (I repeatedly broke down to form muscle memory, until I made it to the range) after the range session voilla easy to remove with no tools. |

UPS and FEDEX can have it shipped pretty cheap ground. Not like you'd have to send in the whole rifle and turn around time at MSAR is pretty quick. They'll mail it back with a new bolt or the old one working. Your limited warranty covers that and so no expense to you other than the shipping to MSAR, which again shouldn't be that bad. Call them up on Monday. |

Take a pliers and give the firing pin a quater turn to the left and pull it out. More than likely the firing pin spring came unraveled a bit. Just pull it out. IM me your address here and include that you are the guy with the firing pin issue. This will be an easy fix. |
| Just got back from Top Gun and the owner and two other guys got the same result. Then a retired US Customs guy comes up and says "...that's a nice rifle..." He told me that he carried the Styer full time when on the job. I told him what was happening and he tried too. No luck. I bought a box of ammo and put ten downrange and broke the gun down wth the same result. I was told I could leave it with them and they would call MSAR or contact them myself..."you keep it...I don't think I would do as well as a dealer with this issue..." We'll see what happens. I was hoping, being that I just bought the gun a week ago from them and never fired it, they would just give me a bolt group from one of their new rifles. Then, I woke up. |
| Dude, MSAR takes care of the end user just as good (maybe better) then they would the dealer. No need to bother with the dealer that will just take more time. I highly reccomend you take up MSARDaves's offer and send him your address and info. I bet your problem will be fixed before the weekend. They have THE BEST customerr service in the biz. |
