One suggestion is to use 44SPL cases for light loads and magnum cases for heavy loads. If you buy nickel plated 44SPL and brass magnum (or vise versa) they would be easy to tell apart.

One of my favorite powders for 44 mag is IMR4227. It meters well, burns clean, is accurate, an smells great.
