Bought some blemished 220 gr RN-BT bullets but haven't tested them yet. One shooter had issues with them in his rifle keyholing at 100 yards at subsonic velocity. Good discussion here: http://www.300blktalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=101041
Supposed to have expansion at subsonic velocity and I can't see why they would keyhole? |

Tried these out of my Ruger American 300 blk loaded overtop of some little-gun. Got it down to about a 1 1/2 inch group at 100 yards. No keyholes yet but haven't tried them thru the Handi-rifle or AR. I also done some expansion testing in water jugs at downloaded velocities hardly any expansion around 840fps but pretty decent expansion at 900fps but still not as good as the pic on the box .

Which bullet is the BT you speak of? For the Nosler 220 CC, I had to drop my charge of 1680 by a full grain compared to match king to get them subsonic but work fine.

Thanks to those who responded, intent is to try the Nosler 220 BT (P/N 30181) in a 308 RPR loaded subsonic. The rifle stabilizes a Lapua 200, maybe I will get lucky? Probably also try the new Hdy 308 sub sonic when it comes out.
