Picked up a box of new Nosler 30.06 brass today.

Box says its already been chamfered, deburred and that's its ready to reload.

Brass fits L.E. Wilson case gage & Rifle.

Measured length of 10 cases.  9 of 10 were 2.477.  1 measured 2.476.

So my question is, do I need to full length resize this brass before I reload it?

The reason I ask is because I always resize my new pistol brass.

Thanks.

At the very least I'd be getting the calipers out and check.

No load em up with some cheap bullets and form fit the brass to your chamber. Then get some good powder and bullets and load them up. If you want to you can measure your chamber and find and set the jump to the lands and work up a good load.

If you can suffer through this youtube video you will learn something good that will help you group better.

I've had the Calipers out and a case gage.

Cases are in spec and fit case gage & rifle.

I am not new to reloading, but everything I've reloaded so far in 30.06 & .223 has all been once fired brass.

It's good that you resized it.

The fact is it can't hurt. If it doesn't need it, which most probably didn't, it will simply go into and out of the die with little resistance and little to no change.

The biggest problem with new brass is dented necks. Even new boxed brass. Running them through your sizing die makes sure everything is as it should be.

That brass is ready to load right out of the box.

Sometimes a dented case neck needs ironing out with a pass through a size die, but I load new brass as is. I can recall no problems with this method.

New brass?

What's that?

Kidding aside, I generally load as is unless a case neck is dented.  If it is, I run the expander ball through the neck

I bought some .300 Winchester brass from SPS, blemished I think. I neck sized it to take out any dings.

It's got to be hands down the best brass I've ever used. If it fits in the chamber, leave it alone.

I size all new brass
 It can not hurt it
Does not take a lot of time
Besides it's the correct way to do it

It actually took more time to lube the cases than it did to resize them.

Had a chance to shoot a few of them this morning and was very impressed with results.  4 shots at a 100 yards all in a 1 1/4 inch group.

Was dealing with a 20mph cross wind and a less than perfect rest.

Load was a 180gn partition over 54.5 gns of IMR 4350.  C.O.L was 3.31

I have loaded this bullet before using mis-matched brass and best group I could get was 2 1/2 inches.

Quality new brass isn't cheap, but I like the results.
