I thought I would get into reloading, but I never really did.  I have a bunch of stuff just lying around, and want to get rid of it.

I don't want to sell on the EE, largely because I never have, and I have someone locally to buy...I think.  So, I'm not trolling here...just looking for advice on an asking price for this stuff.

I have hundreds/low thousands of once fired casings in 45acp, 9mm, 380acp, 40SW, 223/556, 308/7.62...several ammo cans full.  I have no idea what to ask.  Most is Winchester/Federal/Blazer handgun, and Winchester or LakeCity rifle casings.  What price is reasonable to ask for this stuff?  Per pound?  Per ammo can?

As far as dies (Lee), case holders (Lee), case prep and trimming stuff (lee, Possum Hollow, Forster), case gauges Dillon), tumbler (Midway), powder dispenser (Lyman Digital), case/media separator (Dillon), hand priming tool (Lee), etc...best I can tell is retail is roughly $975.00.  Most never used...I worked up one load for .223.  Is 50% of retail fair?  1/3 of retail?

I'd be happy to get $500 for everything, but don't want to leave money on the table if I can get more, and don't want to have unrealistic expectations if it will likely be much less.

As I said, I just don't want to fool around with shipping stuff, and will not be selling on the EE.

To all, remember there is no selling or buying in threads, OP is just asking prices, not selling. dryflash3

Our local range has swap meets as well as the Home Town Forum.  Places like the NRA HQ range have a bulletin board, maybe there is a similar one at a local range.

There are FB reloading groups that you can use for price comparison purposes for the shells.  I hear you on EE, but you can post local pickup only and specify and city, county, or general part of the state and make it clear that local pickup or meet at a mutually agreeable location nearby.

50% on dies and reloading equipment isn't bad, shells are all over the place.  Price them per thousand or per pound.  There are good charts with pounds and number of shells per caliber and $20-30 per K for 9mm isn't bad.

Note on shells they can be shipped in a Flat rate box by USPS for $16.

Plenty of Facebook reloading pages..

45acp = 0.03 - 0.04ea

9mm = 0.02 in general (find plenty at range free here)

380 = 0.04,, people looking for it

40 = 0.015 - 0.02 ea,, same as 9mm

223 = not much, plenty of big lot LC going on

308 = price vary,, look and see what selling for, some want specific headstamp

As far as rifle brass, I prefer it to be un-molested, fellas selling brass that been sized, then pin washed,, hides truth to story behind brass in my opinion

Most is Winchester/Federal/Blazer handgun, and Winchester or LakeCity rifle casings. What price is reasonable to ask for this stuff?

100 / 500 / 1000 qty

You want to make sale and move product, you going to ship,, buyer pays shipping... we all should be welll versed in the art of USPS Flat Rate box and pricing,, sale = payment + shipping.. toss it box, hand it clerk at counter, and pay the clerk,, all done

I sold 40+lb of reloading stuff through the EE in one shot.  I wasn't gonna ship and wanted face to face.
I just put that in my ad and it sold in a few days.
The buyer was from out of state and just happened to be traveling through my area on the way someplace else for vacation.

Members can search by state so that helps screening face to face sales.
Easy peasy.
If your deal falls through , Just saying.

My first place to sell or buy is the EE, FTF or shipped.

If you purchased for new retail at about $975, then $500 is not a bad asking point for all of it.

Or you can itemize it out, check the posts above for prices on brass, 50-75% of cost for used dies (Lee dies are so cheap, usually don't go for much when used), 50-75% for the rest of the equipment.  That may net you another $100.

If I was in your place, I would sell it as a lot to someone interested in starting up reloading. Less hassle and you are getting someone else into the hobby.
