My RC came with a basic priming arm (yours probably did too) and I decided to give it a try.
I'm curious if there is a trick to it. My old press had a spring loaded arm. This one seems to just flop around. It will rest against the ram and fall into the notch to prime, which is cool, but obviously you are just loading the cup one at a time and at an angle. Is that the process? Or am I missing something? Kind of like what this guy is doing but without a press that moves all over https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGSHG5lOvQs I know there is an upgraded option with a tube to feed and spring loaded arm. Might upgrade, but I have a separate hand tool that I usually use. |

I'm curious about the same thing, I've used it to seat a few primers but it's not near as quick as the hand priming tool. RCBS make a primer set up for the Rockchucker but it has spotty reviews.
Honestly I plan to keep doing what I'm doing until I upgrade to a Dillon 550. I'd still like to know if people use the priming arm and how they do it. |

That's a different primer arm. The one I have is the one in the linked video although hard to see. This one... https://media.midwayusa.com/productimages/880x660/Primary/214/214921.jpg |
| So after playing with this a bit more, I think the best way to use it is to leave the primer arm inside the ram and bring the ram down, add primer, lift a bit, slide case in, prime, repeat. Basically like the guy in the video is doing. Works fine for priming a handful of cases. I'd either get the spring loaded arm with feed tube or use a hand primer. I use a hand primer, but the on press arm is handy at times. |

Here are the RCBS instructions for the Rock Chucker Supreme. See the priming instructions on page 4.
I think your process is less likely to cause dropped primers, compared to the RCBS instructions. I really like my earlier model Rock Chucker with the same priming lever as in the pictures dryflash3 posted. Between that lever and the primer feed tube, it's easy to prime 100 cases in a short time, without fumbling or messing up primers. |

I have a RCII. I used to use military brass for competition and the primer pockets were very tight. After breaking the frame on my first Lee autoprime I decided to prime on the press.
I got tired of loading the tube so I converted the tube by mounting one of the Lee primer trays onto the top of it. This worked great for years until I got the stronger RCBS hand primer. Within the last month or so I did get out the old tube/Lee tray to do some on press priming. Still works good. Motor |
