I want to start off by saying I am in no way affiliated with AutoTrickler. I am just a customer.

I bought an AutoTrickler a few weeks ago along with a A&D scale. Both arrived after a week or two later all the way from Canada. I set it up to check it out and learn how to use it and load a few rounds to test out. Once I got it all set up I could charge a cartridge in roughly 15 seconds. Saves time and is super accurate with the weight. Works great no issues so I put it away.

The next day I get an email from Adam MacDonald the creator of the AutoTrickler. The following is the email in bold:

(TLDR: there is a possible issue with a batch of units and mine MIGHT be effected)

Hi,

I have identified a problem with a particular production batch of electronics. Based on the date yours shipped, you *may* be affected.

One chip related to communication between scale and trickler has a manufacturing defect that after being powered on for a half hour or so, it partially stops working, and the trickler is no longer able to accept a target weight and begin. It may work again if left unplugged from power for a long time (overnight).

Because they all passed my test procedure, I didn't realize until they were already shipped. Fortunately it is only a small number affected.

Please look at the underside of your electronics and see which version you have:

The problem is with the board that does not have the "MH" symbol. If you have the "MH" symbol and your trickler appears to be working fine, you can ignore this email. If you do not have this MH symbol, then I would like to replace it.

If you need a replacement, please send me a photo similar to this as confirmation, and then I will ship you new electronics within a few days.

I would like to receive the defective parts back, because I can fix them. Shipping a small box by US postal service to Canada generally costs $10, so I will pay $10 to help cover it. It doesn't have to be fast shipping, but it is important that it have a tracking number.

However, it is possible to work around the issue and continue to use the trickler while you wait for the new part to arrive. You have two options:
1. Send back the defective parts right away. Once you send me a tracking number, I will refund $10 back to the same credit card you placed the order with.
2. Ask me, and I will explain how to do the workaround. Then, once the new parts arrive, you can swap, and I will refund $10 when I receive a tracking number.

I apologize for the trouble and appreciate your patience.

Adam has been a great guy to work with and I highly recommend buying one of his products if you've been thinking about it. I've had his product for about a week and have already been shown fantastic customer service. Not many companies will go out of their way to help a customer with an issue let alone a possible issue.

Good to hear. Since I didn't get an email, I assume the earlier V1s upgraded to V2 are OK lol.

Also want to add how great this scale/trickler is. My 308, 30-06 and 338LM SDs have dropped to under 10 because the scale is consistent and getting most powders loaded to the same weight +/- 0.02gr is practical and no longer tedious.

It's not the motor that has the issue it's the hardware you put into the A&D. I can't wait to do some more loading tomorrow
