Alright, so I just received my Giraud Tri Way today.
I'm having an issue with my brass. The brass that was sent in with the Tri Way fits inside of the Tri Way. I cannot get my brass to fit inside of the Tri Way for it to cut. I have a pile of brass that's ready to go and they would not fit. I also have deprimed/swaged brass and they will also not fit inside of the Tri Way. I read the pdf from Giraud's site. Giraud It says to full length size, which I have. I have two sets of dies. I have a Redding .223 dies and I also have the RCBS SB dies. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? I'm hoping to get the help from the forum as I had an issue with the order from Doug, so I am trying to avoid talking to him. It's a long story and I don't want to hash it out as it isn't technical, so I never posted about my experience with Giraud. My brass measures wider at the neck, and body compared to the sample sent from Giraud. |
| What press are you using, and how are you setting up your sizing dies? What measurements are you getting on your brass, that you are saying it is larger than the provided brass, and how does that compare to the dimensions in your reloading book or the SAAMI website? Does your sized brass fit your case gauge? Does it fit your chamber? |

I'm using Hornady LNL AP and Rock Chucker. I didn't think which press I am using would matter.
I used both full length sizing dies that I have for 223 and the case still will not fit inside of the Tri Way. I figured the RCBS small base dies would do the trick. I've loaded other calibers, but this is my first time reloading 223. I don't have a case gauge for 223, but I'll be buying one. |

The press matters because there are different methods depending on the press, and the dies, and your terminology can shed light on what you may or may not be doing. |

You definitely need a case gauge.
I had a similar problem recently, in that my Dillon dies were not doing a very good job resizing, no matter how I adjusted the die. They were really sticking out the head side of the case gauge. I eventually switched lubes (from Hornady One-Shot to Dillon spray), and the cases immediately started sizing correctly and fitting into the Tri-Way |
