Anybody using N-135 for 75 or 77 grain loads?

If so, what weight powder charge?

24.0 grains for both Hornady 75s- 77SMKs and 80s.  Flows well in a Dillon measure.

Start lower, much lower. Like 22.5 and work up.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm trying to use up a jug from 1997.

I ended up having to pull down more rounds than I'd care to admit. 23.3 grains with 75 Serbian Sidewinder (PRVI). Wouldn't lock the bolt back, and frequently wouldn't even cycle the bolt far enough to feed the next round (bolt-over-base).

I jacked up the charge to 24.0 on a batch of 50. Shot 10 today from the magazine. Tight group, and no function issues from the magazine. Nothing remarkable about the brass or primers.

Shot the remaining 40 single-feed offhand.

Not even one of the rounds would lock the bolt back.

WOA Wilson barrel.
Eats 24.2 Varget with 77 SMK like candy.

In the 90's, I shot this same lot of powder with 23.5 grains, and 80 SMK @ 2.400" in a Krieger barrel without any issues.

I wonder whether the 20 years age is the issue. Powder looks and smells just like it did in 1997.
