What is the hive mind opinion on CFE 223 now that the powder has been out for a few years? Been using Ramshot Tac for quite sometime and wanted to try something new. Thinking about picking up a pound and developing a 223 load with it.

I like it.

I decided a few months back I wanted to copy the Hornady 75 grain TAP ammo that I have shot for many years.

I used CFE 223 and was able to make a load that was the velocity and accuracy equivalent of the TAP round. I am very happy with it.

I have had good results with 27.5gr under a Hornady 55gr FMJ LC brass.

My CFE 223 load is 25.5gr pushing a 75gr match bullet.

Where do you get boxes? That is some next level shit. What press do you use?

The boxes come from Midway and I use a RCBS rockchucker, yes I know bulk reloading on a single stage sucks but I am all about having identical loads when I am done. I have had a Dillon 650 sitting in my shop for a few years, one of these days I will get it set up.

I like it a lot.

Meters really well for me and I use it for .223, .308, and 6.5 Grendel with excellent results

I feel ya. I'm doing several K a year past few years on a Lee classic setup.

It honestly doesn't bother me one bit. I may get a turret press with 4 dies I believe it's called one day.

I loaded 300 75gr BTHP with TAC and 300 55gr ball with H335 just in August.

Started loading 300blk and .380 this week. Happy dude.

Looks like I'll pick up a pound of CFE 223. I'll be developing a load to push 77 TMKs out of a 18" precision system.

It's my go-to powder for 6.5 Grendel right now, and has been for a while.

I also like it in .223 Rem.
