At rest and during the priming stroke the shell plate is aligned just fine. When I raise the ram the shell plate actually jumps backwards a little bit, which sometimes causes the brass the be just a little bit out of a alignment with the powder funnel and crushes the edge of the case if I'm going quickly.
I have tried tightening the big allen key bolt that is in the middle of the shell plate and this prevents the shell plate from kicking backwards but then it is too tight and seizes up on the downstroke. What should I be looking at? |

Sounds like the platform may be out of alignment- the platform is the aluminum base that the shellplate sits on. Dillon will send you a tool to correct this I agree that the platform is out of alignment. There is a spring loaded ball detent that locks the shell plate in position. It relies on the platform being aligned properly. |

Do you have one of those aftermarket lighter shellplate bearings in it?
I have one of those and found it to be a little bit out of round. I'd occasionally crush a primer as it wasn't aligned perfectly. When I switched back to the OEM bearing, it didn't happen anymore. |
| Tried aligning the platform with no tool and while the problem appears better I think the primer ram might be rubbing. I'll call dillon tomorrow and order the tool. Didn't want to be out of commission waiting for the tool but I'll live. Maybe make the best of it |

I'm still going to ask dillon for the tool so I can fix it in the future if need be. |

I know the maker of this kit
It works pretty well at stabilizing the shell plate. |

Didn't want to be out of commission waiting for the tool but I'll live. Maybe make the best of it I have had that type of problem because I tightened down the screws on the primer assembly without making sure the primer cup lined up with the shellplate hole. In other words, I had the ram up, tightened the whole primer system, then when I lowered the ram, the primer cup was barely tapping an edge of the hole. I now leave the shellplate down so it holds the primer cup in the proper spot before I tighten down the hardware. |
