| Well a buddy of mine gave a box of shell holders, mixed companies products, they all fit my Lee press, but in just looking at them, you can tell they are a couple of different manufactures products, so what I am wondering, is the numbering system consistent from one company to another? Is an H5 from one company the same as a 5 from another company? |
| The numbers don't match for all manufacturers. There is a chart https://www.grafs.com/uploads/technical-resource-pdf-file/15.pdf |

OP... Not necessarily the same, and be advised....when you are using dies that when properly set up index off a hard stop (die touching shell holder), such as the LEEs, the shell holder (height) is an integral part of the design. (Different than cam over and some others)
So be careful not to swap shell holders from the intended when using dies that index off this hard stop....or you may be making unintended headspace adjustments. you can measure the distance from the cup of the shell holder (where the brass head sits) to the top of the holder to see if they are similar though, but it is a difficult measurement to make accurately Hope this help |

But again, thank you for the information. |

If you hand prime say with the bevel on the back side can differ between manufacturers and won't allow you to full seat the holder into the hand primer. RCBS hand primer should use RCBS shell holder. I don't hand prime, my primer seat is built into the press I use, thanks. |
