This may be a little premature because of the upper being new but thought it may still be interesting to get comment on.

The upper is a  SS 16" PSA 1in8 twist. The BCG is also new.

The rifle will eject but not pick up the next round when shooting my 50gr V-max load that uses 23.0gr of IMR-4198.

I have heard of 4198 not cycling full length rifles (this load works great in my 22" VTR-15) but not in carbine length gas systems.

This rifle worked flawlessly with my 55gr FMJ'S which are loaded with 22gr of WC-844 and with my 55gr Nosler BT and 65gr Game King loads.

All the loads shot good even the 50gr V-max which would not fully cycle.

I'm thinking about trying them again after the upper has some break in time.

Make sure the BCG is wet before shooting.

New uppers need some extra help as they break in.

I'm sure you know this, but I had to relearn this myself last range session.

lube the charging handle and other obvious places, then run some standard 223 rounds, approximately 50 or more then clean it and

maybe check your mags as well

good luck

A heavier oil in your gas rings might help while they wear in.  It will get dirty though.

Yes. Was running it wet with CLP. I just thought it was kinda strange considering it cycled everything else fine. I'll have to try them again later.

The magazine was my Remington 5 round. It's been used enough to be smoothed in. I didn't try another. I have some well used GI 20 round mags these are my favorite BTW.
