I have a family friend that wants to sell a bunch of reloading gear.  I've been thinking about getting into shotshell reloading, but know nothing about it.  I've been handloading on a rock chucker and 550b for a little over a decade.  I believe based on website pictures his presses are the 9000GN, but am not sure.  One is a 28 guage, and the other is a 12.  Thought I would throw the pictures up and make sure before I make him an offer.  (THIS IS NOT A SALES AD!).  If these are quality units, I want to make him a fair offer (I don't want to stiff him, but don't want to overpay either).  Any help / opinions are appreciated.

12 Gauge

28 Gauge

Piston that is on both (thought it was the model number until I realized both said the same thing

Both look like the Grabber model.

Both are 9000Gs,

Ram (gas/hydraulic?) turns the table on each handle pull, G stood for Grabber at one time if memory serves when they first came out..

The original Grabbers have no ram and you turn the table by hand every handle pull.

They are Grabbers, but they might be the old part number version.  The base will be marked.

Offer $125 each, go to about $140.  I would pass at higher prices.

I have one old model 12 gauge and a 20 and 28 gauge with the newer part numbers.

If you shoot 28 gauge, this is an economical way to go.  I recommend Longshot due to its density, I had terrible crimp problems with bulkier powders.

I've have a grabber and a 9000g.  With the pistons that's a 9000G as far as I've ever seen.   The old grabbers were manual indexed.

The 9000G is basically a grabber with a piston (G) or set up for hydraulics (H).   Not a cheap press.   I think the prices may be low for a 9000G but then again used shot gun presses with shot so expensive it doesn't pay to reload, buy promo shells instead.  There seem to be a lot of shot shell presses on the market and not moving all that well. There are 4 on the bulletin board at my club now.

Thanks for all the info.  I appreciate the help.  Looks like I need to talk with him and see what kind of deal we can work out.
