Anyone have experience with any company that offers
products in exchange for fired cartridge cases? I have a somewhat large quantity of 5.56 fired cases that I'd like to sell in exchange for new brass, or whatever. I've visited Freedom Munitions website, and figured there might be others that can be recommended here. Your thoughts? |

Trust me told, anyone looking to buy 223 brass is looking for it to once fired only, and either buy it unprocessed for under $50 per 1K like LC brass, or processed and cleaned LC brass for slightly more instead. So with this in mind, you can offer it up in EE on the site for sale and should be able to sell it quickly (guessing mixed head stamp and some of fired more than once), but keep in mind that above and what you are pricing it against to begin with. As for ammo manufacturers, they buy their brass by the ton prices at close to scrap prices (not by the piece), so not going to make much money trying to sell the brass to them. |

Most reloaders will be happy to buy your brass provided it still has the crimped in primers in place. This gives them peace of mind knowing that it truly is "once fired" brass.
If you tumble clean it with walnut you will get $10.00 to $15.00 more per one thousand empty cases. $50.00 per thousand uncleaned will sell almost immediately on EE. $60.00 to $65.00 per thousand already cleaned will sell quickly as well. There are around 70 cases per pound with the primer still intact. Figure somewhere close to 14.3 lbs. per one thousand empty cases. That's easier than counting them. |

I have never used it, but have bought their bullets many times. |

No hiccups in the process, just not the best value I thought. As someone said you can sell 1000 for $50. Xtreme would give you less than $27 for that amount, and you still have to pay the shipping to send it to them. In the future, I'll likely just sell unwanted brass on the EE instead of using the exchange program. Shoot, even taking it to the scap yard would better since you don't have to pay shipping. |

I use Xtreme's brass credit program, ship them the brass I don't want.
But I get anywhere from 2K-5K 223 cases and thousands upon thousands of 9mm, .40, etc every week picking up at local public range. It works if you have enough free brass. My last bulk load of 9mm 124gr Xtreme plated RN cost me $90 out of pocket to load 1,500 rounds. |
