I figured I would share some of my chronograph results with different guns and loads for purposes of information and discussion. I like to read stuff like this, so I might as well contribute. The velocities read out for each charge by individual shot readings. Most are five or six shot strings. This is not meant to be comprehensive or conclusive of anything. Remington 158 Grain LSWC-HP +P, S&W Model 642-1, Air Temp 42F, 11/8/15: Remington 158gr. LSWC-HP +P: 804.1, 813.5, trouble reading. .357 MAGNUM 1. Good load. 2. Oregon Trail 158 Grain LSWC, Winchester Small Pistol Magnum Primer, Winchester Cases, Ruger GP100 4.2" bbl., Air Temp 42F, 11/8/15: 15.0 296: 1195, 1168, 1167, 1152, 1159, 1225. Good load. .30-06 1. Sierra 150 Grain GameKing (Soft point, boat-tail), CCI Large Rifle Primer, R-P Cases, Remington Model 760, Air Temp 48F, 11/1/15: 56.0 H4350: 2741, 2809, 2825. This has been our standard load for 150 grain projectiles in the .30-06 for years. Will possibly do more load development with H4350 in the .30-06. ETA: I charge my cases with an RCBS Uniflow powder measure. |
