Any reviews on this stuff? I am looking to reload 7.5x55 Swiss for my K11. My father in law recommended H335. From what I can tell the powders seem really similar. What are your experiences with either of them.

Very versatile powder. I use it for my .17 Remington and 30-06. It is the go to powder for the Garand. It's a stick powder, so it doesn't meter as well as a ball powder.

Great powder.  I use it in my .223 loads and have seen it used in .308 loads to good effect.

According to hodgdon you can get reliable ignition down to 60% of a max listed load for any given bullet.  Have plans to test this in 30-30 but not set up for that round yet.

Because of the metering issue, do you measure out powder by hand or do you use a dispenser of sorts?

Use a measure set to throw the charge a hair light and then trickle up. Any jams in the throw motion and you likely get a higher charge. Experience will tell you which ones to just toss I the hopper and re throw.

Any 4895 will work in that cartridge. Also 4064 with throws worse.

I've used it in 223, 243, 303 and 7.62x54R all with very good results. It's my preferred powder since its so versatile.

Like the others said, H4895 is very versatile. Great in many calibers, and fantastic for .30/06 M1 Garand ammo.

H4895 is to rifle calibers what Unique is to handgun calibers.

Don't confuse it with IMR4895, a very similar but different powder.

The Lee Perfect Powder measure works very well with H4895   If you work the measure the same way it gets with +-0.1 grain

Good luck reloading that one. I thought I'd be smart and reload for my K-31. The Swiss ammo has a unique two diameter bullet and a very long ogive. If I loaded cheap hunting bullets, Hornady Interlocks for example, just short of the rifling, they wouldn't line up properly with the chamber and jam into the breach. Loading them too long caused them to jam into the rifling and if you tried to eject it would pull the bullet and dump powder into the action. Longer match grade bullets made the rounds more much expensive than Swiss surplus ammo, and I couldn't improve on accuracy. Grafs carries Prvi Partisan soft point rounds if you plan on hunting probably cheaper than working up loads unless you're up for the challenge.

You have to remember it's Swiss. They lived and breathed precision. If your K-11 is any thing like my K-31 you know. Swiss ammo is just as precise. I couldn't improve on it.

I have severe arthritis and am very recoil sensitive, Hodgdon recommends H4895 for reduced recoil rifle loads, I load it in 7.62x54R,  8mm Mauser, and 30-06, its kind of a life saver for me.  I'm sure you have noticed that IMR 4895 and H4895 aren't the same thing, the loading recommendations are different, and Hodgdon says to use their H4895 for the reduced loads, not to use IMR 4895 or any other powder.

For my 223/5.56 loads I use AA2460 ball powder, stick powders don't like that small neck very much, but sometimes I use Varget in my 22-250 loads, its a shorter cut than H4895.

I have used H4895 for my K31 for about 14 years now.  It is one of the most accurate .30 cal loads I have ever shot.

- Reformed .284 Winchester cases (make sure you trim)
- WLR Primers
- Sierra 168gr Match King
- H4895 40.0gr
- OAL 2.93

I'll second that... Lee Perfect Powder Measure works fantastic for me with H4895!

They actually started as different lots of non-canister.

Hodgdon started out purchasing huge lots of surplus powder and packaging them.
A long time ago they used to sell 50 pound drums and you could buy it by the pound in a paper bag from dealers.

The first lot lasted long enough to be worth having new powder made to match it when it ran out.

The IMR line was made by DuPont originally.
Non-canister first.

IME 25.0 grains with a 55fmj is an excellent 223 plinking load.

Very good powder do to versatility and ability to reduce loads also.
