So today I am making my first rounds for my .270. Using FC once fired brass and some imr4831. My manual says that for a 140gr spire point max oal is 3.335. Just for kicks I measured some FC that I have left. This ammo shoot excellent out of my gun. The measured length of those bullets was 3.115 give or take a few thousandths. Am I nuts for thinking that's a pretty sizeable difference? Any thoughts on what I should load these to length wise? Any help would be great.

Gun is a Remington 7600 pump.

You should load to your data's OAL.

Remember factory loads are made to fit in any gun chambered in that cartridge.

So they have headspace on the short end of specs and a short OAL.
