Been loading for years and just decided to start loading 9mm for my new G17. I'm rather cheap and was wondering if anyone ever tried a .38/.357 carbide die to size 9mm brass. Die sets have really shot up in price since my last set.

It won't size the case correctly. 9mm is slightly tapered. Don't try it.

No. If you want your loads to chamber, a 9mm die set is in your future.
Lee makes low cost dies that work well.
