Does anyone have any load data for 62 grain fmj bt, using H322 hodgdon powder? I can't seem to find any in my manuals or online, all I can find is data for 1:12 twist using a 24" barrel. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks, michiganfn15 |

Ramshot has some in their online manual, SS109s though with steel pen., test barrel is a 24" 1:7.
When I loaded SS109s I scoured the forums as it had been discussed many times and made some inferences between 60 and 63gr listings in the Lyman manual, which tests in both a 24" 1:12 and 20" 1:7. I got good accuracy from my 5.56 chambered 16" 1:9 and my 18" 1:8 at the higher end using BL(C)-2 and H335. Barrel length and twist have a negligible effect on chamber pressure which is the important part, you will not find manuals showing velocities for short barrels unless they have a T/C-XP loading section, but that's SBR like short. Listed velocities often have little real world application anyway, varying not only due to length but, atmospheric conditions, chamber cut, land and groove fit. Ramshot has or had an expected velocity loss by 2" increments IIRC. Any accuracy are also subject to be wildly untrue in your rifle. |
