I have been loading plated Xtreme 158Gr SWCs for my wife's .38S.  Very good results.

Using up some old SR4756 powder on the .38S.  Good powder, but smoky and leaves gun very dirty.  Her hands turn black also.  Has anyone used any of the newer powders in their .38 loads that would be cleaner.  My wife likes to shoot, so I think it's important that I do what's necessary to make it as enjoyable as possible.

If you can find any, True Blue and Silhouette from Ramshot.

At present, it's use what you can find.

Residue on your hands is part of revolver shooting.  It is unavoidable.

W231 and WSF are fairly clean.  Shoot plated, jacketed or dry film lubed bullets instead of wax-lubed lead.
