So I'm loading 124g hornady xtp's to 1.06

using hornady lnl and the hornady 9mm dies with the lee FCD.

Station1 - sizing
Station 2 - bell
Station 3 - powder drop
Station 4 - seating
Station 5 - FCD

I know you can get various results when you don't have all stations full, so I ran a few until the stations were all full, then ran the seater down until I got 1.06.

But I get various results. How do you keep them all exactly at 1.06 is there a trick to this or is there an acceptable variance range?

My strokes are consistent, so I'm ruling out this as I know that can be one factor.

A small variation is expected some

make sure your primers are seated completely. also different brass can give different results on the LNL

Keeping it exactly at 1.06 would be hard. I think the common variance is typically +/- 0.005" what are you seeing?

My 9mm run +/- .005" on my Dillon 550B.

I did have a bad batch of Winchester 230gr .45 FMJ projectiles that were all over the place when I measured them by .010-.015" in variation.  I sent them back to Winchester and they refunded me the price I paid.

As another has already asked, what kind of variance are you seeing?

Sorry :-) just got back in from loading

250 rounds of XTP 124g

300 rounds of Berrys HBFN 124g

My variance is within the tolerances you all stated. An occasion few might hit 1.058 but for the most part it was -/+ .005

man...never thought I'd say this..but not really liking my Kimber Solo CDP. I mean it might be great for a backup down in the boot type weapon, but being soooo small...it's hard to get consistent groups, my 10mm zero issue keeping 2 moa at 60ft. My mothers 9mm glock no issue either. Damn me and my mickey mouse hands.
