| I have an old piggyback unit I am sick of. I'm ready for a real progressive. Since I have lots of shellplates and other RCBS stuff it would be nice to stick with that brand. Do they suck? |

Another happy Pro2000 user here. I went with the manual index model because I find it useful, plus you can always buy the auto parts in the future. That's a nice touch. If you do get one check out this mod http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_42/322049_.html&page=1
I actually used a stripper clip instead, works great! |

bm3, is that the Inline Fabrication roller handle? How do you like it? sp1shooter, I've had my Pro2000 for about a whole week now and like it. I have maybe 1500 rounds on it so far. I really, really like the APS primer system. Never liked the tubes ... Yes and I like it better than the factory one. |
| Fantastic press, I have the inline fabrication handle and really enjoy its ergonomic design. Very easy and quick caliber change, not to mention that if I need another shell plate or die holders the local Sportsmans Warehouse has it. As mentioned earlier the APS works well and is reliable. |

Thanks guys, I'm going to get one. I have all the shellplates I need, an APS strip loader, and a couple powder measures. After dealing with a Piggyback since 1990 anything should be better! If you buy your Pro 2000 you will then have an extra strip loader and 3 powder measures! Perfect. You can use one with the big drum for Rifle, and the other two with small drums for rifle and pistol. If you shoot a lot of pistol, do buy the new powder-through expanders for the calibers you shoot, and order extra powder dies and clamps from RCBS parts to populate your die plates with.....then you don't ever have to readjust Powder measure depth.....just drop them on. Keep in mind that no progressive is perfect, but the Pro 2000's simplicity makes it the easiest press out there to modify and tweak to fit a particular user. In the "Read First" tacked thread, top of page one, you can find the RCBS Section where I have examples of Mods you can do to make the press extremely fast, and trouble-free. Here's a link to the Read First Post that Links to all the mods.. Think you're going to like the press. |
