Hi

I came across a used MEC 500 progressive 12g press.

I can only find a users manual online, but not much else.  Anyone have experience with this machine and opinions?  MEC site did not list this (not even in the discontinued section)

Not sure how long, but it has apparently been a very long time since they discontinued it, they still have the manual for download because there are some still out there, even after all these years.

Just checking, are you sure it's a 500 and not a 600 jr?

I've got a 600 JR, pretty good little press for a light user of shotgun shells like me.

If you haven't bought it yet, hold out for the current press the 600 jr.

If he can't find the parts, pass on it.
Doesn't do any good to have a progressive without the parts you need and can't find any.
Another thought, contact MEC and see if the parts missing will cross over from a different model.
Some will.

Just had to comment...that photo triggered some nostalgia.  Check out the old school logos and can of Hercules powder.  Just like when I started in the 80's with my Size Master.  i wonder what the price is on those primers...I can't see it here.

Except for the loading block that I made, those are all fun show finds.
