Can anyone tell me if the 52 gr match bullets would be a good option for my 16" 1-9 twist barrel?

Just got my Geiselle trigger installed and looking forward to shooting my DPMS now. I have CFE223 and Varget on hand.

The only bullets I tried for mid range accuracy was the Hornady 68BTHP but didn't learn much as I was new to reloading and had a crappy factory trigger. Now have 2 yrs experience with reloading and been involved in competition shooting/FTR for a year now

Only way to find out is to load some up and shoot them. They should do fine in a 1-9.

Go for it!  The 52 gr SMK is a very accurate bullet.

just wasn't sure if that was an ideal bullet weight for the barrel length and twist I have

personally, I would want a heavier bullet; better BC, better in wind, etc. Up to 69 gr for 1:9. I would try 69 SMKs.

Next time you want to try heavy bullets, try the Sierra 69 gr MK. More accurate than the Hornady 68 gr in my rifle.

Thanks. How far should I be able to shoot the 69gr with the 16"? 600 yards?
